Hi, and welcome!
My name is Shalini Chatterji. Thank you for choosing me to walk alongside you as we navigate your healing, growth, and the everyday challenges of life. I’m passionate about creating a judgment-free space where clients feel supported, understood, and empowered. Whether someone is experiencing anxiety, trauma, stress, school-related concerns, or navigating big life transitions, my goal is always to help them feel safe enough to explore their experiences and strong enough to shape their own path forward.
One of my core beliefs is that every client is the expert of their own life. I see therapy as a collaborative process where we work together to identify strengths, build on them, and move toward meaningful and positive change. My role is not to tell clients what to do, but to assist them, offer tools for success, and help them reconnect with their own resilience and wisdom.
My style is warm, relational, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. I use evidence-based approaches that support the whole person — mind, body, and emotions. Some of the therapeutic methods I draw from include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), solution-focused strategies, and mindfulness and grounding techniques. We work at a pace that feels right for you, always centering around your goals and lived experiences.
I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where I specialized in Clinical and Medical Social Work, and my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Sewanee: The University of the South. My clinical experience includes working with students across grade levels in Jefferson County Schools by providing mental health assessments, one-on-one support, crisis intervention, and collaboration with families and school staff.
Outside the office, I enjoy music, photography, reading, spending time outdoors, and hanging out with friends and family. I find these hobbies keep me grounded and joyful.
Reaching out for support takes courage, and I’m grateful you’re here. Remember, the hardest part is getting started. Together, we will build a therapeutic space that honors your voice, your values, and your vision for your life.
